Book Review: Choker by Elizabeth Woods

What are best friends for? Murder, maybe.
Zoe and Cara were as close as friends could be-until Zoe moved away in fourth grade. Miserable without Zoe, Cara grew into an unhappy sixteen-year-old, tormented by the popular girls and nursing a hopeless crush. Then one day Cara returns home from a miserable day at school to find Zoe sitting on her bed. Shocked and delighted, Cara agrees to hide Zoe from troubles at home and the two resume their friendship as though no time has passed. Zoe even helps Cara get up the courage to stand up for herself and talk to her crush. But when one of the popular girls winds up dead, Cara begins to suspect that Zoe is responsible, and her questions only feed Zoe's anger. As Cara searches for answers, she is forced to confront a deadly truth….

This. Book. Is. AMAZING. I was on the edge of my seat for every word. You just can't get enough of the suspense in this novel :) It has you heart pounding the way Woods portrays Zoe throughout the book. Cara is a complex and dynamic character that you immeditiatly feel a deep sympathy for and Zoe is someone you could automatically like (if she wasn't crazy of course) ;)

ALSO, the twist at the end will leave you totally shocked to the point where you want to restart the book just to catch it again ! i Loved this story and I think you will too. Woods it deliciously good at what she does and I will certainly be picking up the next novel from this author!

Thank for reeding guys !

Book Review: The Space Between by Brenna Yovanoff

Everything is made of steel, even the flowers. How can you love anything in a place like this?

Daphne is the half-demon, half-fallen angel daughter of Lucifer and Lilith. Life for her is an endless expanse of time, until her brother Obie is kidnapped - and Daphne realizes she may be partially responsible. Determined to find him, Daphne travels from her home in Pandemonium to the vast streets of Earth, where everything is colder and more terrifying. With the help of the human boy she believes was the last person to see her brother alive, Daphne glimpses into his dreams, discovering clues to Obie''s whereabouts. As she delves deeper into her demonic powers, she must navigate the jealousies and alliances of the violent archangels who stand in her way. But she also discovers, unexpectedly, what it means to love and be human in a world where human is the hardest thing to be.

This second novel by rising star Brenna Yovanoff is a story of identity, discovery, and a troubled love between two people struggling to find their place both in our world and theirs.

I loved this book. it was totally amazing, Brenna Yovanoff is one of my favourite writers on my shelf at the moment. The world she has created surrounding her amazing characters is utterly breathtaking in the most deliciously dark way.

This novel is one that I would reccomend at the top of my list. I could rave about it for hours, honestly. It is beautiful and spectacular and left me feeling sad that it was over. The books I read after this one paled in camparison to The Space Between. Please read it, and also check out her first novel The Replacement, whcih it also amazing :)

This book is the third in the series the first two are called Born at Midnight, Awake at Dawn and the fourth book is called Whispers at Moonrise and comes out in October.

I really liked this book, the characters are people I've grown to really like. While this book may not be my FAVOURITE book series but it is one of the greats. The spacing in this novel is lovely and I am happy to have bought this book :)

One thing I did not like, was the immaturity of the writing, parts of it were hard to get through becasue of that. It certainly didn't stop me from reading this book but it did make me feel like i had to mention it in this review.

This is a really easy read, not so in depth, and it is interesting enough to hold you attention (the concept it also lovely) I read this book in a day and if that's what your looking for i strongly think you should pick this up. Thanks for reading guys :)

Review: Cold Awakening Trilogy: Frozen, Shattered and Torn

I really liked this series, let me just say that first
(Previously published with different titles)

Frozen or Skinned : Lia Kahn was perfect: rich, beautiful, popular -- until the accident that nearly killed her. Now she has been downloaded into a new body that only looks human. Lia will never feel pain again, she will never age, and she can''t ever truly die. But she is also rejected by her friends, betrayed by her boyfriend, and alienated from her old life.
Forced to the fringes of society, Lia joins others like her. But they are looked at as freaks. They are hated...and feared. They are everything but human, and according to most people, this is the ultimate crime -- for which they must pay the ultimate price.

Shattered or Crashed:
Before the accident, Lia Kahn was happy.
Before the accident, Lia Kahn was loved.
Before, Lia was a lot of things: Normal. Alive.
Human.
Lia no longer believes in before. Six months after the crash that killed her, six months after being reborn, Lia has finally accepted her new reality. She is a machine, a mech, and she belongs with her own kind. It''s a wild, carefree life, without rules and without fear. Because there''s nothing to fear when you have nothing left to lose.
But when a voice from her past cries out for revenge, everything changes. Lia is forced to choose between her old life and her new one. Between humans and mechs. Between sacrificing the girl she used to Between sacrificing the girl she used to be and saving the boy she used to love.

Torn or Wired: One year ago, Lia Kahn died.
A few days later, she woke up.
She had a new body: Mechanical, unfeeling, inhuman. She had a new family: Mechs like her, who didn't judge her for what she could no longer be. She had a new life, one that would last forever.
At least, it was supposed to.
But now everything Lia thought she knew has turned out to be a lie; everyone she thought she loved has been stolen away. And someone is trying to get rid of the mechs, once and for all. Lia will risk everything to save herself and the people she can't live without. But not before facing one final truth: She can't save everyone.

I really enjoyed this series, it was action packed and had a lot of interesting thing going on. Lia is an indepth character and you find youself just cheering her on throughout the book! She was a good blance between heroic and realistic and she also made you smile.

There was kind of a love interest in this book, not much of one though. Which didn't nessicarily bother me, this Lia has balls, and she certainly doesn't need a man protecting her. Wasserman is a truly amazing write and portrays all of her characters beautifully.

The one thing I didn't like about this book at i feel I have to mention, is the ending of the series. It was a let down for me personally. It felt like I was settling for something when we all knew it could have been so much better. It made me kind of sad to see how it ended after everything they went through.

I still encourage you to buy these books, it was an amazing read, even though the ending was just not for me. :) Thanks for reading guys !
